16-19 Programmes of Study at St. Margaret’s

Route 1: By negotiation with the Director of Sixth Form, some students may select the equivalent of 4 A Levels if you are predicted an average GCSE grade of 7.0 or more.

Route 2: Select the equivalent of 3 A Levels if you are predicted an average GCSE grade of 6.9 or less.

Route 3:. Students who select BTEC (1), (2), (3) will not study another subject or qualification as this is the equivalent of 3 A Levels.
Students who select BTEC (1) & (2) must select another subject from one of the remaining option blocks.

Additional information:

* denotes this qualification is in one option block and is worth 1 A Level;

** denotes this qualification is in two option blocks and is worth 2 A Levels;

*** denotes this qualification is worth 3 A Levels and is not studied with any other subjects;

Students who do not get a grade 4 in English and/or Maths will have to resist these examinations as an additional programme of study;

Students may also study Further Mathematics as an additional subject outside of the programmes of study;

Students selecting the equivalent of 3 A Levels will all be given timetabled study sessions;

Students selecting the equivalent of 4 A Levels will not be given timetabled study sessions.

The EPQ qualification will be offered.
